Nicu nurse here....William is your pump, you should only pump if you are engorged and only for comfort. However, if you want milk for the future pumping will increase your supply. First 10-14 days your milk is on auto pilot then it becomes more supply & demand. Let him nurse when he wants.

Tiff, a tip for soreness, take some pads, unfold them and put witch hazel on them then fold them back shut and store in the freezer. Very soothing and helps with inflammation.

We co-slept with our son from birth until he was 3. He came to bed one night and told his daddy, "You're squishing me!" My hubby said you have a bed in your room, and that was the end of him sleeping with us. 😭 He is now 34 years old. He was our only child. Thoughts on pumping... Remember you're feeding the baby and not the freezer.

Having extra milk is helpful but if you stay around your baby all the time then don't need much extra milk. Don't stress out with pumping.
