Based on the 1980 Chevy Citation “X-Body” platform, the front wheel drive 1982-‘90 Chevy Celebrity stole the “A-Body” nameplate away from the mid-size rear wheel drive Malibu / Monte Carlo, which were re-named the “G-Body” as a result. You didn’t know that? You’ll learn lots more in this fun video about the Slow-Lebrity.

You are the ONLY other person I know of, who brings vintage literature to the junkyard!! 😂😂😂
I bring all my new brochures and mailers to my friend Larry's yard when I go visit my new 62 1 ton long panel project and scout out parts for it

I learned to drive in a celebrity wagon with the 3.1.

My dad had a celebrity wagon with a manual trans when I was a kid. I somehow managed to break something in the linkage while messing with the shifter while it was sitting (not running) in the garage. It rolled backward into the door and I was terrified. I tried pushing it back, but my kindergarten-sized carcass couldn't budge it.

I still don't know what actually broke . . . I had 2 more shifter incidents with the family cars as a kid and maybe its poetic that I have spent the last 20 years developing shifters at an oem supplier.

My wife and I used to deliver newspapers back in the early 90's. I'd pick up cars on their way to the boneyard to use on the route, squeezing the last life from them. One car was an '83 Celebrity with a 2.8 carbureted V6. That car took some serious abuse and I literally drove it until the wheels fell off ( passenger front hub broke off and I passed my wheel and hub as i drove into the ditch). It was a descent car to drive and it delivered papers in the blizzard of '93 and the flooding and freeze that followed.

Steve - you need to grease your hinges…….😂

MacPherson - how to turn a $100 afternoon shock exchange out in the garage into an expensive, all day repair full of cussing and cursing in one fell swoop!

Had a college friend whose daddy bought her a new ‘83 two door Celebrity as her late-high-school-into-college car - for the era, it was a REALLY nice vehicle that in terms of sophistication and performance was light years ahead of the ‘77 Chevy Monza I was driving at the time! Not going to lie - I was a bit envious……..😂

“Celebrating” Steve Magnante and the expertise he offers us. Good name for a car, btw. Celebrity.

My high school owned a black Celebrity Eurosport sedan with a 2.8 that we used for Drivers Ed. Nice car! Rode well, fairly quiet, decent power, good looking. Crazy how these cars were everywhere in the 80s and 90s, and now they’re gone. Disposable cars.

Anyone from the 80s and 90s can remember the unique GM V6 sound that it seemed like every 3rd car on the road was....

My 1988 Z24 with a 2.8L V6 was a crappy but lovable little car. I loved the burble of the 60-deg V6 so characteristic in so many GM cars -- Cavaliers, Celebrities, Luminas, 6000s etc -- of the era.

I remember fixing the rust in the 80s, many times it would be around the holes and only there, that were drilled and plugged by a rust proofing company. They often did not treat the bare metal they exposed when drilled.

When we had our first child in 1994, my wife quickly got tired of stuffing the car seat in the back of her 1991 RS Camaro. So we sold the car, put some of the money towards our first home purchase, and used the rest to purchase a 1987 Celebrity Eurosport. I have to say the car was good-looking in its day, and is becoming nostalgic these days. The car was always a pleasure to drive, and I always loved the low back bench seat, which gave the interior an open feeling. It's a car I remember fondly.

When I see the cars in this condition, I try to picture each of them at the beginning of their lives, rolling off the assembly line, gleaming and ready to hit the road. Very depressing when you see them ripped apart like this, weeds growing up through the engine compartment.
