Rex Raptor’s Ultimate Duelist Kingdom Dino Deck Final Draft

Weekend playtesting is going good the decks have been tested right now Im working on Rex Raptor here are some observations from testing at this time:

People like his vanilla dinos and reptiles, we should def go with this we see very little of what his deck contains but when given the choice between cards that look like something Rex would have or viability most people go by what looks like a Rex Raptor card. So more people like it when they see Rex play Drooling Lizard than Koumori Dragon even though his deck would have more support for the later and reptile has no support in early yugioh. The characters in the show sometimes choose weaker cards because their first pick is too rare or someone else's signature card or because part of the game includes luring your opponent into putting their cards into attack mode and bluffing. So I stacked Rex's deck with the cards that look the most like monsters he would have.

We noticed during testing the Rex deck we have posted has too many traps, so Rex does not play any traps in duelist kingdom vs Joey and we only see him drop 2 from his duelist kingdom deck in a flash back. Most other characters also only have 2 traps or so, and we tried it out it feels more like Rex when we lowered the tnumber of traps in his deck. I'll share the new deck soon based on the play test results and after that it'll be time for a new one!

Mai is tough I have an idea though, first we filled her deck with winged beasts a bird theme to match her Harpie Lady cards. But I also have a deck where her other monsters are all beautiful women trouble is it would be too much like Johhny Steps' deck... I have a third & fourth idea I'm going to try out for Mai if it works out I'll share it here. We could try to make a deck with only the Harpie monsters support and searchers available around this time, this would be a huge challenge and it is not certain if this is possible. I have one more other idea to try too.
