I loved this video!! I have a question when I'm riding a changing on the diagonal going right I have trouble getting him off the wall with just my outside rein and leg. I feel like I'm having to turn his head to get him off the wall but once he's off we can get the most beautiful diagonal. I can get him off the wall in walk and canter... its just trot to the right changing to the left that I'm struggling with. He always wants to resist it and but i don't have issues doing any other movement with him. He just tends to want to stay on the wall when going to the right. He is blind in his left eye so i don't know if that would have anything to do with it but i really would love some tips!!! thank you for this videos they are so helpful!!!! ❤️

Susan Alderman, if possible, have someone record you riding him through these exercises to see if his hind legs are following the correct path of his front legs. And that he is staying between your legs and hands and being driven forward by your seat. Stay Safe and I hope this helps you as well as what the tips given to you do!! Best Regards from Ontario, Canada, Jenn. 💖🇨🇦

Hey I was wondering if you could help me with my question. My horse is very hard to keep straight bur even harder to bend. She's not young but very green when it comes to flatwork. If I try to circle her, she will either look to the outside or walk straight instead of a circle. When I put my inside leg on to keep her from falling in, she speeds up and tries to rush. Same for my outside leg, if i put it back she tries to canter. Pls help me I feel awful I can't even circle her :/

Amazing! I know all of this is easier said than done but when you can visualize where you are trying to go it makes for a hopeful situation. Knowing what the responses you get from your horse mean and how to correct is very helpful. Thank you for taking the time

Alicia my question is how do you keep George fit and healthy. Considering he’s a Shetland and they are prone to being over weight and stuff. But obviously doesn’t get ridden like the others because of his size

Every horse is an individual and you have to take it day by day as to the horse you have on any given day. Stay Safe Everyone!! From Ontario, Canada, Jenn. 💖🇨🇦

Hi Alicia, when do you start cantering a green horse? Do you wait until she is balanced in trot before I get her to canter? Sorry for asking such a simple question.

And Janine Hollot, another suggestion if I may. Level 2 FEI Coach in Canada, Don't ask in the same places for the trot-canter-trot transitions while practicing at any other arena, even your home arena. This way your horse DOESN'T start to anticipate when you're going to be asking for it next. Best Regards and I hope both of our suggestions help you!! Stay Safe Everyone!! So converting the canter to trot, is similer to actually the oposite, of trot to canter!! Keep the canter active, then use the bend to slow the canter and drops into the trot, without losing impulsion. or have I got that wrong. ??
Also suppleness I use serpentine, is that wrong?? Eg straight then simply 15 meter half circle back to straight, then back to 15 meter half only then straight again. It just seems to work for my boy.
Im 71 he is comming up 23, and find that easier.
Riding for us is about qaulity rather than quantity, and his mind set, someday its like pushing porridge up hill, those day's sort and sweet, other days he is keen a longer ride. Listen to your horse.

I have another question. My friend rides a mare who tries to kick any other horse who passes by (mostly mares). How does she solve this problem?
