Traxxas Slash 4x4. Improvements for Racing (EN)

The video about one of my model Traxxas Slash and what did I do to it to make it be more quilified for racing. Though I think this model is not the best for racing but you can still enjoy it if you do some simple things.

I absolutely will NOT run any drive shaft with the dogbone drive cups for the simple fact of what you said that they will pop out, and after a few runs, the shafts start to hollow out the drive cups, and either break, or come out. I don't like them.I run drive shafts with a captured pin, and have yet to have any issues with them. RPM makes killer parts, and I have the a arms, shock towers, and both bumpers on mine, and I love them. I will eventually go with the castor blocks, and steering knuckles, nerf bars and rear bearing carriers.

Thank you very much for all those insights. Will try some of your ideas on my Slash 4x4.
Maybe give an aluminium center diff with very stiff oil a try instead of the slipper. Regards and good races!

I run a slash 4x4 lcg with hot racing bellcrank with adjustable steering servo, an xpert wr4140 servo, aka deja vu tires. and a steel 13 with plastic 52 spur on an aluminum hot racing center diff with proline shocks. running 15k in front 7k in center diff and 5k in rear diff. trucks perfectly balanced. stock esc and motor and can school some fools. driver mod is required

This video helps a lot! I'm just wondering what shocks those are and what shock oil weight?

What sort of temp's do you tend to run on carpet? Also what's the ambient temperature at your track usually?

Nice video, i have a 4x4 slash and its having troubles steering on my dusty offroad backyard track with the stock servo. Would the mods u had in the video work on that surface?

check out the strc chassis for the slash, it somehow made the steering id say 50% better and jumps 75% better. works great.

I am having trouble getting my slash to cut the corners like the losi trucks do. What can I sand down or even buy to make my slash turn further if that makes any sense

Does the front bumper go under or over the body?

I know it's unlikely that you will respond on a current comment from a two year old video but what wheels and tires are you using, and what wheels and tires would you suggest? (I have a slash 4x4 not 2wd if that changes anything)
