Making Money With An RC Snow Plow! 💰

In this video we install a powerhobby 1/10 snow plow onto our Traxxas TRX4 and go plow driveways with it! Expect to see a installation guide for the snow plow and some demonstrations. This plow worked well but needs some adjusting. The truck will need some heavy weight on it to keep traction, and the plow would work best in lighter, fluffier snow. But it was still a fun project!

Plow guy here with 25 years experience. Add lots of weight. You want the plow wider than your tires, so maybe a smaller tire on more inset wheels would work. This keeps you from driving over your berm as you're wind rowing. You want the frame behind the blade to be as parallel to the ground as possible, so you're pushing the snow and not pushing the blade into the ground. This also help to stack the snow since the angle is under the blade, which let's it float. If you could attach some wings on the sides that angle in a little bit, it'll hold more snow with less snow sluffing out the sides. I'm super stoked to see a functional rc plow that moves in all directions! This has potential to be a little beast.

Been watching a lot of these RC plow vids because I’m looking into it for myself but this might be my favorite. I say that because it’s not just some guy having a mid-life-crisis, like myself, and showing off his budget less toy lol. But yeah, you included your boy. If I made videos, this is how I’d want to do it. Even if he doesn’t end up an RC hobbyist down the road, the fact that you guys are doing this together is awesome and even more so to see. Most dads wouldn’t even let their kids near their grown up toys. This is like the RC version of me trying to teach my son to play on my USA Rosewood Neck Strat LOL. Not that I’d film it. Anyway. Great to see this kind of stuff. The snowball fight at the end lol and the fact that he actually made $40 too 🤘🏼

1:45 I'm surprised that 3D printing hasn't taken off as a secondary hobby for surface the way it did for planes and quads; especially with how cheap and easy it is to get into now. It's become so ubiquitous in the flying segment of the hobby that if you admit you don't have one people give you goofy looks.
