Congress Councillor Niranjan Hiremath on Monday made a big claim regarding his daughter, Neha’s murder claiming she was killed because “she denied religious conversion”.

A case has been filed against seven individuals in Karnataka, including a husband and wife, for allegedly coercing a 28-year-old married woman to convert to Islam by threatening to release her explicit photos.

The woman, who was married and Hindu, claimed that the man raped her in front of his wife and forced her to wear a burkha, forbidding her from wearing ‘kumkum‘ on her forehead, as per the police statement.

The police said that the suspects, Rafik and his wife, deceived the woman and had sexual relations with her. Rafik then took intimate photos of her, which he used to blackmail her into converting from Hinduism to Islam.

In her complaint, the 28-year-old woman claimed that Rafik told her to divorce her husband and threatened to expose intimate photos of her if she refused his demands. She also mentioned that the couple threatened to harm her if she didn’t convert.

In a horrifying event, a barber named Sajid, who was 22 years old, brutally murdered two young brothers with an axe in Baba Colony,  Budaun, Uttar Pradesh. Sajid, who had recently started a barber shop, entered the boys’ home on a Tuesday and launched an attack on the three brothers. Two of the brothers, Ayush and Ahaan, were killed in the attack, while the third brother, Yuvraj, was severely injured and immediately taken to the hospital.
