My ink of the day for Day 25 of #30inks30days is J Herbin - Lie de The - a nice brown ink with incredible flow and a pleasing color!!!!
In this video I show you how this ink looked in 3 nibs on 4 paper types. We also look at chromatography and bath test results and I try out the Nick Stewart technique!
This #30inks30days challenge (to write with only 1 ink and 1 pen per day) was put to us by Ink Journal - home of the ink flight subscription box! Here is their website:

Hi, Chris. It was great to see you review this ink. I don't have that many inks compared to many of your viewers, so most of the time, your reviews are what introduce me to an ink. This is one of the few times I've had an ink before seeing your review. I enjoy Lie de Thé a lot. I found out about it because someone recommended putting this in a Pilot Custom 823 as a nice color match to the amber body of the pen. I have found that it does have shading quality to it, but it depends on the paper. Maybe not as much shading as a color like Noodler's Navajo Turquoise, but definitely some. I enjoy that this color looks professional and "vintage" as another commenter mentioned, but also is different and fun. I use it to grade my students' papers, as they're writing in blue or black, and I like grading in a color that isn't red. Thanks for your review!

Brown hasn’t usually been a wish list color for me but I really like this one so maybe.... The “2 sun” art journal from yesterday morphed into “blue sun” - interesting. I like that you’re using more than one color - thanks, Chris.

I’m watching this 3 years later. I like your video. My favorite Jacques Herbin are Café des îles et Lié de thé. Hello from France

Thanks Chris for reviewing this ink, it is interesting ink that lightens and darkens depending upon which paper you are using.
Personally, I am not a big fan of brown, but with your video I can see the appeal, I would have to find a darker shade from the Diamine ink selection.
See you tomorrow for day 26, wow September is flying by.

This is a nice shade of brown ☺️. I still don't own any brown inks, maybe it's time I took the plunge instead of mixing my own browns 😂😂
