* Billy Joe Thomas ( ✩ 07/08/1942 ✟ 29/05/2021 )
* Nasceu em Hugo, no Oklahoma mas cresceu em Rosenberg, nos arredores de Houston, no Texas. Era o segundo de três filhos. A família era pobre e seu pai tinha um temperamento agressivo exacerbado pela bebida.
* Foi casado de dezembro de 1968 até 2021, quando veio à falecer, deixou 3 filhas.
* Logo após o início da carreira se tornou dependente de drogas e álcool, o que quase levou ao fim de seu casamento.
* Em 23 de março de 2021, ele anunciou que estava com câncer de pulmão em estágio IV, o mais avançado e estava sendo tratado no Texas. Morreu dois meses depois, em sua casa aos 78 anos de idade.
