I love my kowas, I have the prominar 883 and the fluorite highlanders. An investment for sure, but will last me for the rest of my life and then some. Can’t go wrong with them.

Their genesis handheld binos also compete extremely closely with top end swaros for 1/2 to the 1/3 the cost

I have this scope and I find the eye relief okay as long as you don’t where glasses
I’ve also compared it too the Celestron hummingbird ED and to be honest the Kowa is just as good optically, plus it’s light as a feather

How would you change the eyepiece if you could? Is there some way to determine / get a better eye relief eyepiece?

Wow! Just checked the specs. 14-12.5mm of eye relief. I wear glasses and can just scrape by with a Athlon 15-45x65mm that has 16-19mm.

Stuck in a similar boat. Was about to buy the TSN-501 then realize the eyepiece was not replaceable. Want something compact for bullseye pistol. Probably end up getting a TSN-601 instead.

Quick question, is it just personal preference for the small spotting scopes or do you have friends who are saying the same thing? We would be interested in developing something in that direction if you can tell us exactly what should be changed.

Hey John. I shoot a Nightforce ATACR 7-35 and spot with a Razor 20-60x85. At 600, I can see almost as clearly through the riflescope as the spotter. (Note: I can see impacts on high visibility targets through both but not holes in paper) I’ve noticed you shot a Kahles 50x scope, Do you see more clearly through your scope or spotter? I’m wondering if I need a spotting scope at all or should just invest in higher mag. target scope?

I was looking at it, just to get something quality on a budget. I have been very unhappy with vortex or others in the $300 range. So this wouldn't be good if I wear glasses?
Wanting spotting scope to see bullet holes in targets at 200 yards to 300 yards.
Maybe wildlife viewing occasionally long ranges.
Any recommendations?
Amount I'm wanting to spend, up to $350
Thanks

I've got the Vortex 50mm spotting scope. Same problem. Your eyeball has to nearly be touching the glass because of non-existent eye relief.

Can we see the impacts of .223 on the target at 100m ?

John, do you know anything about this: Vortex Diamondback HD 16-48x65mm Spotting Scope? I am in the market. The Kowa is less money.

What's wrong with the eye relief? Too short? Too long? Too tight?

Wish they had reticle eyepieces. Doesn't look like they make em
