Florida has a reputation for being one of the worst states to work as a nurse due to low pay and no legal patient/nurse ratio

This money is not helping nurses who are currently employed. It just help create more nurses, which may even depress the salaries.

Until nurses are treated like human beings, no one wants to become a nurse. Unlimited patients, no time for toilet/meal break, can't go home after 12 hour shift because you replacement didn't show up, hostile management, forced to work even when you are sick, subjected to back injuries due to lack of staffing and having to lift patients on your own, loads of Karen/Ken patients with demanding families, loads of homeless/mentally ill/druggie seeking drugs patients etc. Nope! No way. They have to import Filipino nurses who put up with crap to get residency in USA.

They keep going around the real issue, the real issue is that there are unsafe ratios in this state, and nurses become burnt out and do not stay. However, hospitals put all their money together to prevent any law from passing that is related to safe staffing.
Voters out there, after this pandemic be smart and support safe staffing. Your family members gets better care with better staffing. I would never want to be a patient at a hospital where the nurse has 6/7/8/9 patients. How is that Especially on a PCU/Telemetry unit where the patients are very sick. And they should have used that 100million to pay the nurses that are on the job now better!!!! Nurses are still taking care of covid patients (though the news is not talking about it) and they aren’t getting paid for risking their life and safety.

Why aren't you just letting the ones that didn't take the vaccine have their jobs back....

RETENTION! RETENTION! RETENTION!
Another band aide on a sinking ship. Pump out all the hurriedly trained RNs to burn within the first couple of years.
How would you feel if a physician’s training was sped up for the sake of pumping out more M.D.s to fill positions?
