Rio de Janeiro is the second largest city on the South Atlantic coast. This city lives up to it's famous reputation for glamour, it also lives up to its reputation for crime. The iconic sights of Sugarloaf and Christ statue can be seen from many spots in the city. The beaches, Ipanema and Copacabana lined with hotels and burger joints with a few nice cafes sprinkled in.

Lapa is one of the most thrilling places to be in Rio after dark, with streets and bars full of people, all in historical buildings (most of them from the early 1800s).

In Lapa you can hear typical Brazilian music such as samba, forró, and choro. It's the place to try typical Brazilian food and drinks like the world famous caipirinha. The nearby Santa Teresa neighborhood, located on the hills to the southwest, is a beautiful historical district and home to many of the city's artists. Be sure to check: Cinelândia,Lapa, Carioca, Uruguaiana, Presidente Vargas, Praça Onze and Mercado Uruguaiana.

Thanks for showing us around the REAL Rio and its people. It is videos like these that enable viewers from around the world to get a different perspective of Rio/Brazil, not just the city heard about in the news or portrayed in tv shows/films. I would hope that most people would think that daily life in most of Rio is what you are showing, not just beaches, Football, crime, and poverty. Nevertheless, it's good to actually see it for a change.

A lot of my viewership comes from Brazil. I have never visited the country and don't know when I'll be able to so it's great to see where my viewers live and how they go by their daily lives.

I like your style of presenting additional info/facts to us viewers about the location. I am curious though about the camera gear that you use for each of your specific video shoots (might be a good idea to add that to the video description).

___ En el año 1873, durante una visita, el educador puertorriqueño EUGENIO MARÍA DE HOSTOS escribió sobre la exuberancia de la naturaleza en el BRASIL.

___ en la década de los 1880’s, el ingeniero puertorriqueño ESTEBAN FUERTES CHARBONIER (considerado una autoridad en el ramo de acueductos) “se trasladó a BRASIL; y después de un estudio concienzudo y meticuloso sobre el proyecto (de acueductos), el mismo fue aprobado por el gobierno de RIO DE JANEIRO y ese es que aun funciona en dicha ciudad”.

___ En la historia de nuestra Borinqueña hay 3 versiones: la romántica, la revolucionaria y la infantil. Esa última versión llegó a principio de los 1900’s, de forma aun desconocida al BRASIL, fue adaptada y traducida al portugués bajo el título ENCANTADORA INFANCIA, utilizando la misma melodía que conoces de La Borinqueña. Esta música puertorriqueña adaptada en el Brasil aparece registrada en la Biblioteca del Congreso de los Estados Unidos como una ANTIGUA CANCIÓN INFANTIL DEL FOLKLORE BRASILEÑO.

___ El grupo puertorriqueño MENUDO (cuando era 100% puertorriqueño) arrasó en la década de 1980’s en Brasil; allí los 5 chamaquitos boricuas lograron romper los record de asistencia a un concierto, aglomerando a mas de 200, 000 personas en el Estadio Morumbi en SAO PAOLO; mas de 100, 000 en RIO DE JANEIRO y mas de 100, 000 en BELO HORIZONTE.

___ El pianista puertorriqueño mas importante a nivel mundial se llama ADLAN CRUZ y este artista bayamonés creó hace unos años la Fundación Adlan Cruz en el BRASIL, donde se otorgan becas a niños brasileños de esacsos recursos económicos que les permite trasladarse y estudiar música en los Estados Unidos.

___ La científica sanjuanera KARIM MENÉNDEZ DELMESTRE, nacida, criada y educada en Puerto Rico es profesora de Astronomía y Coordinadora de Relaciones Exteriores del Observatorio Valongo de la Universidad Federal de Río de Janeiro, en BRASIL. Hace unos años fue seleccionada una de las 7 mujeres científicas mas importantes del BRASIL.

___ En el 2017, la puertorriqueña INGRID MONTES GONZÁLEZ (profesora de Química en la UPR-Rio Piedras) fue reconocida durante el Congreso Mundial de Química celebrado en BRASIL como 1 de 12 Mujeres Distinguidas en Quimica y/o Ingeniería Química a nivel mundial.

Pero el BRASIL mas famoso de todos los tiempos en Puerto Rico, lo popularizó durante la década de los 1980’s el gran comediante puertorriqueño VICTOR ALICEA con su famoso personaje en la TV: GUILLE y el país lo coreaba …

AAaahh que demais!!! Achei que só eu tinha ficado encantado com o centro do Rio de Janeiro quando estive por lá. Sou de São Paulo/SP, aqui o centro é muito interessante também, mas confesso que o centro do Rio tem algo em especial que não dá para explicar. Só posso dizer que o espírito e astral do Rio é bom demais na minha opinião!!!
