I think we missed the huge reason why she’s conducting these experiments. The ice within which the watchers are entombed is melting. She’s attempting to find a solution in ways which may be described as void of morality. Ultimately she’s just trying to save the world by any means necessary. The perfect antihero

For those who haven't read the lore, this is basically what happened.
Once upon a time, there were 3 mighty sisters, Serylda and Avarosa and Lissandra. Each tries to gain more power and pays the price, Serylda fought with the heavens and lost her voice, Avarosa fought with the depts and lost her hearings, and Lissandra fought with the mortal nature and was blinded by a primal god (Volibear).
After going blind, Lissandra gains the power to see "visions", to walk through dreams, the Watchers then come to Lissandra's visions, gifting her powers in exchange for submission, Lissandra accepts the deal, though her sisters are against it. Then the war came, for Serylda and Avarosa would not accept the Watchers' dominance, Lissandra then came to realise the threat the Watchers bring to Runeterra, and in her last hope, she froze everything, her sisters, the Watchers, the war, all under The Howling Abyss.
Now she prepares for a new war, a war when the ice melts and the Watchers will rise, an inevitable war that will put an end to all Runeterra. For centuries, she took over many Freljordian tribes, killing Serylda and Avarosa's reincarnation to secure her power over Freljord, all so she could delay the inevitable, the day the Watchers return

In short,

Current Lissandra is neither a Villain, nor a Hero. She IS the last line for Runeterra by freezing the Watchers.

She keeps them frozen by luring new iceborn users in order to delay The Watchers from being free.

Also her manipulating those that are under her to be "empty minded" all so that she doesn't make a mistake that The Watchers will take control of them against her.

Quite honestly, I don't approve of her methods but I do approve of what Lissandra HAS to do.
Even if she shares this secret & seek help, ultimately as of now Lissandra is the only person capable of encasing them in Ice.

Let's not talk bout Aurelion Sol, he's too arrogant to help any being at all xD

Love her story! The Freljord in general is so massive and has such awesome potential... also the fact the main demi gods mirror the idiology of each of the main Freljordian champions!
Ornn for Ashe and her progrresive nature
Voli for Sejuani and her old fashioned tribalism

honestly lissandra is the type of character that is painted as a villain but is truly a hero in my opinion. she's like a true-neutral with good intentions when it comes to saving the world

Fun fact: The bridges that traverse the abyss where made by Orn, they where supposed to be ETERNAL AND INDESTRUCTIBLE yet Lissandra "ruined" Orn craftmanship by imbuing the bridge with magic, making them only good quality builds but they would erode and crumble. Orn is grumpy about it to this day.

I thought Lissandra single handedly froze the the watchers and everything and everyone around.
And also i thought that all she does isn't for the pursuit of power, but to make sure the watchers stay asleep for as long as posible

I really like all the runeterra-threatening.... threats that we have around. But I really do want at least some of the narratives to move forward. Also? Wouldn't it be fine to just send the ascended and the voidlings to fight the watchers? Let'em kill each other. Then we can worry about the Darkin. Geez. Oh and don't forget the Shadow Isles! Thresh is now more daddy and still wants your soul. Hard to be a poro farmer nowadays, lemme tell you.

Okay, so fun fact. Lissandra has been killing Avarosa and Serylda's reincarnations for centuries so her grip on Freljord does not falter. But can we blame her though? The Watchers are beings threatening to destroy all of reality (and will one day) and Liss is the only one DELAYING them. So.. yes I support her and what about it.

Nobody talks about how she sacrificed her body, becoming an ice spirit that can't go where there isn't any ice or snow, in order to trap the Watchers and that when she will die the True Ice will break and vice-versa.

I feel like people still get her wrong because she is not a hero. She's a power hungry witch that keeps the watchers frozen while also trying to CONTROL them. She wants to corrupt and use them for the sake of power and that's why when you summon them in LoR she says "our arrangement is complete" meaning she planned their coming for her own favor. She also says "not yet" or "so much left undone" when they're summoned from the enemy board because she still hasn't corrupted them. Which is why i still believe lissandra is still evil and i think the intended intentions of riot for her to be with trying to make her past story in line with her current lore.

Honestly, people may see her as “bad” morally for making a deal with the watchers for power, but I feel like eventually the watchers would have used someone else as a puppet if she denied them. So if she denied them, then Ruenterra would probably be at a higher risk
