30th Anniversary Athlete Story: Sydney Barta

Sydney Barta lost her leg at six years old due to a metal scaffolding accident that left her left foot shattered. Shortly after the accident, she developed compartment syndrome and a 105-degree fever. After 21 surgeries, she was fitted for her first prosthetic. Sydney has become a distinguished Paralympian representing Team USA. Yet, her story is far from complete, as she continues to reach for new heights, poised to explore the boundless possibilities.
