What I like most, the clarinetist is having fun with it. He's got good tone on the high end, which is hard. He makes it sound effortless, it is not. Weber's Concertino is supposed to be a fun, spectacular little gem. This performance was close. The clarinetist's technical execution and tone were better than the orchestra backing him. The orchestra and conducting took the air out of the performance. If only the conductor had let the orchestra challenge the soloist (string sections are100% passionate, competitive perfectionists so let them do their thing to a woodwind). I wish the conductor had let the orchestra here go bigger and play the time more precisely. When the orchestra boxes in the soloist, it forces him/her to fight, and clarinet soloists can be transcendent when challenged. Weber is like a mini-Beethoven--he demands the orchestra create romantic drama. Drama is the product of conflict, and conflict between orchestra and soloist was missing here. All in all, the technical perfection made for a fun performance, but better still is to hear an orchestra that's not holding back on the soloist. I wish the conductor had more confidence in his players.

Wow. This piece makes me wonder if weber was any less than beethoven. Such well-suited harmonies!
Thanks to your team bringing this piece to life with such delicate performance and letting us listen to it for free ❤

The dancing of the soloist, is that mandatory or optional?

One of the best performances of Op.26.
The conductor is probably using some special wand from Hogwarts. 🤔

Does anyone know the approximate tempo of each part? I’m trying to play this and I don’t want to have to go back to the video every time
