Hi Madeleine, you have helped me understand that I was breathing wrong for probably all of my 56 years and now my whole life is changed! I have Parkinson's, and thought that my deteriorating speech was going to be a life sentence of not being able to communicate. My voice was gravelly and choked out with hiccuppy stuttering, and I hadn't been able to make myself understood for years. I lived in dread of my phone ringing. I discovered that I was breathing with my sinuses instead of deeply into my belly. I have heard for years that the diaphragm was somehow involved with singing, but I couldn't figure it out. Your videos flipped a switch in my life. I haven't quite mastered it, but I am learning how to draw breath down into my belly kind of in front of the diaphragm and relax my throat and vocal cords. I have experimented with the finger clip oxygen monitor thingy in the hospital and watched it go from 90% to 98 or 99% blood oxygen just by slowing my breath and drawing it in like a vacuum bulb that you used in one of your videos. I can sing a little bit better when I am able to relax my vocal cords and throat, but my speech is 1000% better, and that has changed my life!

Madeline not only knows how to sing well but how to teach well. I'm a retired teacher and am impressed with her teaching technique. Thank you.

Great video. I'm almost 60 but I've learned a lot from you in recent times. I can tell you put a great deal of time into your presentation because the concepts and techniques are always easy to grasp immediately.

Great exercise! My voice is within a limited pitch range. This exercise was interesting to try.

This was incredibly helpful! I’m recording my first solo release and I’ve run into some pitch troubles. I’ll be doing this daily in preparation for going back into the studio! Thank you Madeleine you’re a God send!!!🙏🏽🤍

Thx for this video I really needed to hear this from someone else because sometimes I also just use my voice of any instrument that has the same exact sound of the pitch that I hear by ear mostly

You dear lady are so awesome on every last video you put out. I don’t have to listen to it first before I like what you do because everything is awesome you do. I really like you it’s like I told somebody else, I think it’s develop into something stronger by now. And as soon as I get enough money I’m coming to you. when it comes down to explaining difficult things what you do is outstanding you make it so simple. In the 80s I knew I could sing but none of the teachers knew what to do. Yes you have tension in the abdomen but they didn’t know how to explain it I kept tension there and couldn’t get a note out and I know I could staying as high as Minnie Rippleton back then I could.
