I messed around trying to decide about a Domino for 2yrs. Finally got one late last year and once I’d sussed out how to use it I’ve now decided if they ever invent a time machine I’ll use my place to go back in time and make my younger self get one sooner! I’ve used it on everything I’ve done since, from beds and doors to cabinets and skirting board! Wish I had both the 500 and XL though....

Thanks for this update and looking forward to seeing all your future projects, you should always pay the most you can for a tool as buying cheap tools can be a false economy

I agree with your thoughts on when to buy a Domino, Keith. As a hobbyist furniture maker, it just doesn't make sense for me to purchase one when I can get great results with a router and jig for loose tenon joinery. I also use dowels with great results.

I have been watching since your shop build and I really enjoy playing “I Spy” with those oak hat and coat stands. You have one of my favorite channels and part of that is because of how you enjoy connecting with viewers. Great job and best wishes, Kieth!

excellent use of the coat stands.  In other words, these have become the find that keeps on giving. Looking forward to your next build. Best wishes

You will never please all of the people all of the time, (unfortunately)
Only some of the people some of the time...
And on that note congrats on the new addition to your arsenal. 👍
Definitely make some good impacts on the manufacturing side of things, time is precious!
Covered a fair bit in 10 mins. 😎

Good choice getting the domino. Surely it's your choice what tools you get. I've never understood why people hate this tool or that tool. Woodworking is a forever changing trade/art/hobby, and technology will always change within it too! Have fun with the domino. If you have trouble with the accuracy from using the side flags/pins, ring the helpline. It's a case of swapping out one of the 'paddles'. You'd get hold of a pair no problem if your machine didn't come with them. Enjoy 👍

Nice update Keith. That is one soggy moggy! Look on the bright side, I still remember my cat deciding to run across my neighbour's freshly poured concrete drive, well half way across when she promptly sank! 2 hours and a vet visit later, she returned home with shaved legs, paws and undercarriage, along with a seriously p*ssed demeanour! Thankfully my neighbours saw the funny side and the permanent paw prints remain long after she has sadly passed.

That looks like an almost new Domino - good bargain. They are very effective, but I found it very easy to put the mortices in the wrong faces of pieces to be joined. I now draw a little oval where they have to go so I don't keep repeating the error LOL

Congrats man! every tool that make you more productive should be welcome, you aren't doing this as a hobby so productivity should be your goal...that's how it is in any area.

The Domino was the first and the best Festool tool I’ve bought. It’s a massive time saver for what I do. 90% of the stuff I build is for clients so the quicker I can get it done with a quality joint the better!

Getting a good score on hardwood is great and you made good use of the hat racks. I bet you will find other lucrative scores. On two occasions I have found awesome deals on Church Pews that were getting sold off super cheap... mostly solid oak. Happy hunting.
