Try the drive from denver to pagosa springs Colorado. We were in heaven the entire drive. If you can work remotely and stay an entire month in pagosa springs then stay there during the month of May like we did. We would go soak in the natural hot springs and then drive up the snow capped san juan mountains to cool down every evening
