Honestly, iPhone 12 still holds up pretty well with 13 & 14. I have both 12&13 currently and cant tell difference for normal pics. Video quality also similar and since i shoot mainly outdoor and have rarely used Cinema mode on 13 so far.
Infact one difference I noticed is the bluetooth sound quality is bit inferior on 13 when compared with 12. But battery life is major factor I bought 13 as a daily.

I think Iphone 11, 12, 13 almost the same, but the 14 shoots better at 3x-7x zoom and have action mode:) And why most people don't like iphone 14 because it's still 60hz screen.

The 13 and 14 have darker shadows than the 12. And thus darker colors as well. Now, whether or not this was done to improve color accuracy is the question. But the 12 has more dynamic range in terms of tone mapping.

I was about to switch to 14 from 12 for camera purposes only. Now I think it’s better to go for mirrorless cameras with lenses rather wasting money on iPhone again 😌

it's incredible to me that apple STILL can't get a handle on daytime lens flares and especially floating green orbs at night. Android has had this fixed for years. Spend $1500 on a phone to take great pictures... but deal with all these green dots everywhere. Makes sense.

As someone coming from the Android side (Samsung S series), I've been finding videos like these to be helpful when trying to find which "new" iPhone I want to get. Seems Apple has done the same as Samsung in regards to so called "upgrades" to the cameras. From the 12 to 13 to 14, it seems to be more of a user preference as to which phone works best for them. Just like Samsung and the S line. Ive owned Notes and S. What really made me start thinking about it all was going from S21+ to S22 Ultra. I think quality went backwards. I find, through this video, it seems some of the pictures are the same and some have actually gone backwards.

TL;DR - Apples to Sammies. Seems the latest models to pick from are based on user preference without any "real" upgrades to show for.

The colors on the 14 main camera loog cold, especially in night mode; I much prefer the warmer feel of the 12.

Thanks Irina🤗, in my country, in Belarus, an iPhone 14 pro with 256 GB costs $2000. The photo has been slightly improved, but it's not worth that kind of money, the camera still shoots very doubtfully at night.
