Maybe we should go back to what we had in the 40's, 50's and 60's, when state colleges were free, they weren't sitting on $50 billion dollar war chests, and college football coaches weren't getting paid $9 million a year on the taxpayer's dime! That is where outrage should be focused!

Still don’t understand why, if they really want to help, they just don’t wipe out the interest they charge. Been paying on a parent loan for six years now and just got to owing what the original loan was for. No interest would help tremendously and the government would still get their money back.

When I found out that many members of congress had their own debt forgiving in form of PPP loans, MJT $187, 000 some as high as $2 million, you have to wonder why they are so aggrieved that this program would help mostly the poorest of Americans. The hypocrisy and spitefulness are amazing.

I say put colleges and university out of business?

It's these companies and businesses that say you need a degree for a job that you have to be trained in by someone else. And many times the training is done by someone without a degree.

Why does a bioengineer need to have to take art and music classes to get a degree? We could certainly trim the fluff out of this, make it faster, more efficient and more affordable.

The one thing that should change on these predatory student loans is the way they calculate the interest rate so you can actually pay it off without paying back quadruple of what you borrowed and you should be able to cancel the debt in a bankruptcy.

If the government stopped guaranteeing student loans to anybody who wants them for any degree they want, college wouldn't be nearly as expensive and far fewer people would be saddled to debt they can't afford. Better yet, universities should be the financial institutions that administer student loans so they would be financially incentivized to create economically productive alumni.

Sad part is if Biden did this earlier on it might’ve had a chance to go through but he waited until the end to do it. Just for the votes.
