Took my daughter to her first game tonight and haven’t watched much leafs this year…no Mathews and had no idea who the goalie was 😂 He played solid in between the pipes.

Kallgren played well, but the biggest difference was how the defence boxed out and limited those second and third chances.

the kid played very good tonight, and i will not deny his shutout... but he needs to have some serious work on his rebound control. he had to make a few desperation saves as a result of giving up a bad rebound, eerily reminiscent of james reimer... if he can control them? the kid can be unstoppable. him and woll are definitely the future

Källgren was great. BUT, the difference that I really saw was rebound control from the D and backcheckers. He rarely had to make a second save. And that is where the Leafs have struggled most. That, and turnovers. Play Keith's system and they will dominate. Sometimes it takes wanting to keep your goalie safe to play proper defense.

Congrats to Kallgren on his first shutout in his first start. He has a bit of rebound control problems... but infinitely better than the other goalies Toronto has had this year.
