pt. 3 | 2 days in Kyoto | Samurai Dream, Halal Japanese food, Budget Capsule Hotel, Bamboo Forest🌿🍱

Solo in Kyoto: Living my karate kid dream, Samurai Class, Capsule Hotel, Bamboo Forest & Halal Food! 🇯🇵

In this third part of my Japan series, I’m solo traveling from Osaka to Kyoto, and it's been such a vibe! Kyoto is a must-visit, and even though it was just an hour from Osaka (perfect for a day trip), I stayed for a couple of days and really soaked in the magic. ✨

I’m staying at Anshin Oyado Capsule Hotel & Spa (Address: 600-8092 Kyoto, Kyoto, Shimogyo-ku Ayanokojidori Higashinotoin Higashihairu Shinmeicho 239-1, Japan), which is super affordable and clean, with everything you need: powder rooms, an indoor and outdoor onsen, and all the amenities, including shampoos, food and more. Even with my OCD, I felt super comfortable here!

After checking in, I explore Kyoto's beautiful temples nearby before diving into the Samurai Class the next day (IG: kyoto_samurai_experience, Address: Kyoto Samurai Experience Kyoto, Japan), a literal dream come true for a karate kid fan like me. I dress up in samurai gear, learn about the rich history of the samurai, and even get to cut a bamboo tree myself! The experience was movie-like, and we ended with some calming meditation. If you’re into martial arts or Japanese culture, this is a must-do!!!!!!!

Then, it’s off to the famous Arashiyama Bamboo Forest. It was already evening when we got there, but the magical vibe at dusk made it even more special. And the best part? There’s an amazing Halal Japanese restaurant nearby called Oku-no-niwa (Address: 31 Sagatenryuji Tsukurimichicho, Ukyo Ward, Kyoto, 616-8384, Japan). In Korea, finding a bit more fancy halal spots is difficult so this was a treat!
