The 60FPS version is much much better for the motion subtitle test. My Odyssey G9 did surprisingly well against the test, aside from the fully vertical dimming zones. That being said, the right-most dimming zone was lit up the entire time due to the branding logo in the corner.

Thanks for putting this video together! I do a lot of buying, repairing and reselling / donating old tech and televisions are some of the most items I came across. I tested this on my Hisense 50R6+ and everything looks pretty good to me, it’s not the fanciest TV on earth but for a 50” Roku TV that I got ~14 mo ago on Black Friday it gets the job done! I’ll let you know as I test it on some of my other units, and I’ll certainly be subscribing for more content

My Panasonic TC-P65ST30 plasma made in 2011 has been my living room workhorse. This test showed no issues at all. I'm truly amazed at how well it's kept up over the years. I remember when I bought it all the FUD about burn-in and how the plasma would leak out. The image would only be half as bright in only a couple years... Blah blah blah.

Thanks for sharing this.

I got an old 2015 model of a Sony Bravia (40"). I'm so surprised how well it's held up! I use this daily for hours. I watch lots of YouTube, Netflix and play videogames. Sometimes for many hours at a time. I haven't even cleaned it in a while and I was still so impressed with this test!

I've got a LG OLED C1 Series. Coming up on 4 months of heavy use. Holding up great, love this TV. Best one I've ever bought.

I ran this test on an older curved OLED 910V. Luckily, the image was crystal clear. Looking forward to purchasing the C2 model or G2 this year!

I got a Sony Bravia KDL-40R553C (40'') from april of 2015. Been using it daily as a computer screen (5-15 hours a day) and the only thing I've noticed (prior to this video) is a screen burn-in of the Windows Taskbar, a clear and very noticable line when the screen is gray. Though it is not that bad of a burn-in! Nice to see that my almost 7 year old TV still has no problems with frame-rate, banding nor DSE!

Hi, new to channel. I just tried the test and iv got 5 blue round patches and the dirty screen effect. It's a 6yr mid range Samsung, I thought I saw a problem but this just proved it. I'm greatful to you for the test, it really shows the problems. When I can afford it, il be getting a new TV..hope it lasts till then. Many thanks (Rob).

Thank you. *Second hand* Vizio D55-F2 model had its entire bottom row dark with dse, and about an eighth of the top right portion was dark with dse. The people we received it from gave it to us for free because it was just so distracting for them. We managed to correct some of the severity of the problem and have been managing, but after this video I’m just going to get and install new lights for the TV. It’s a decent QLED model and if I could upgrade I would but for now I’ll just get new lights and enjoy what I have. Thanks for the video

Ran this on my 1440p monitor and it performed very very well. Happy with it, my tv is an old LG with scratches and discolouration on the screen so definitely going to fail that one.

Hi there, thank you for this handy video, I recently changed my 3 Yr old LG C9 in for. a lovely new Panasonic Jz1500, it's a wonderful Oled, which is just a bit brighter and has a few more options for picture settings than my older C9, I. needed a. break from LG as I've had so many although the C9 was my first oled, whilst waiting for the Panasonic to come I. had to use an older lcd, and I couldn't bear it after using OLED, , there's no going back, as for the test, my tv being Oled did wondefully, it's a very expensive TV as the C9 was when it was new, but it's a lovely upgrade and doesn't have the clunky home screen of the C1, thanks again for you're brilliant videos

Just run this test with my 6.5 year old LG 65UF950V. And I was truly surprised that even I use my TV as second work display for my laptop and also for my desktop computer, there was no burn-in or anything. And 60fps motion was also, well not perfect, but relatively good. Couple of days ago I ordered LG 86QNED81. Interesting to compare and see how 86 inch screen with edge-lit tech runs this test :) Thanks for this test.

Thanks for this test. I was pretty happy with my 75" Samsung QN90B. It did very well on the DSE test. It did have slight blooming on the subtitles and the smaller square. I'm pleased overall with my panel.

Haven't tested this on my TV as I'm away from home but I did test it on my 16 inch Macbook Pro (M1 pro) and the result was excellent except some negligible blooming, which is understandable since it has a mini-led display.
