Hymn for a Scarecrow - Chiptune Cover (Tally Hall)

More Tally Hall! This is one of my favorite songs off of Good & Evil, which is my favorite album of theirs- though it's a very tight race. I had a lot of fun trying to make the lead sound like vocals through pulse-width-modulation; it's a technique I've used a few times since. Not too many, cause it's a pain in the ass to do, but- it's fun!

Made in Ableton and Famitracker 0CC with the VRC6 chip.

My D&D character died last session. He was a kenku sorcerer, the jokester and wild card of the party. Like any kenku, his dream was to fly. As he died, clutching onto the Weave he was born from, he fell into the afterlife. It felt like flying. This reminds me of him.

I've been trying to figure out how to do tally hall songs in chiptune for so long. Hymn for a Scarecrow was one of the songs on my list. You blew it out of the park. Wonderful cover, this is just incredible to listen to. Crazy you were able to get this sound out of the vrc6 chip in famitracker
