Simple, easy and delicious New Year’s cake - Vasilopita/Βασιλόπιτα με φλουρί 🎇🥂🥳🎊💰

The most favorite Greek cake for New Year!!!
This very tasty and fluffy cake is prepared in every family.
The story of the Greek Orthodox custom of the Vasilopita with the lucky coin inside begins in Asia Minor, and more specifically in the city of Caesarea in Cappadocia, more than 1600 years ago.
Vasilopita with a coin which brought joy and blessing to the people. Since then we also make royal cake by putting a penny in the first day of the year, the day of St. Basil.
Ingredients:
• 60g butter, melted
• orange zest from one orange
• 75ml orange juice
• 4 medium size eggs /separate yolks and whites/
• 150 g icing sugar
• lemon juice /a couple of drops
• 150 g flour
• 7 g baking powder
• 25 g corn starch
• ½ tsp salt
• 25g chopped almond flakes
• 75g chopped walnuts
Bake at 180 ° 35-45 min 20-22sm baking tray or 25-30 min 24-26sm baking tray/depends on what height you want, I use 26 cm
