Hey, what's going on folks? It's your man Mike "Doc" Rannigan and welcome to another episode of Roof Top with Doc.

Today we're going to talk about what happens when you file an insurance claim without talking to a preferred roofing contractor. So I'm the homeowner I call the insurance Hey, hey, Mr. Insurance, we had a super bad storm come through, can you come out and take a look at my roof, take a look at my house, make sure we're in good shape. Roger, that homeowner will be out there tomorrow, take care of everything. adjuster shows up and gets on your roof, he noticed that it has blistering, he notices that you have a few shingles missing over on the right-hand corner of your of your home, he notices that on the front side, he had a few hail hits or so. But it wasn't enough to purchase the entire roof. So now what happens?
Insurance tells you hey, you got about $2,000 worth of damage, your deductible is probably $3,000. So therefore, it's your out-of-pocket expense. Second issue. Now that you've reported that damage to your insurance company, and say another storm comes through, and they have the photos from the first time you called them, and they noticed that you never repaired the damage. Guess what your insurance company's gonna do? They're gonna deny you a second time because you never fixed the damage that was found by your insurance company.
Now you're in this whole issue with your insurance company knowing that you had damage but they also know that you had prior damage because you prematurely contacted the insurance company before contacting a roofing contractor. So it puts a lot of a lot of problems in play when a homeowner does that.
So again, if you've been in that situation, or you're currently in that situation, we have solutions for you. All you really need to do is is give us a call at 214-284-0695 and let us assess the situation and see what we can do to help you out.
