It doesn’t matter whether you have a practice routine planned or not, what I’m showing you in this video is so important that it needs to be done every single practice session.

This short routine is something that is going to help you improve your; chords, rhythm guitar, scales, keys and most importantly - your ear.

Not to mention, if you stay consistent with this, you will have a routine that will allow you to begin playing the music that you hear in your head.

A very thoughtful lesson but probably not for most guitar players unless they have achieved an understanding and a facility with the playing of chords and scales and rhythm. Once there ( and you will know when you are there) this is a fantastic lesson .Playing this every time you pick up a guitar will give you a real roadmap to making music.

What are your thoughts on exercises like 4 note pentatonic scale sequences? My teacher gives these to me but they are not fun to practice like songs. Why do we learn this?

I'VE PLAYED WITH MUSICIANS WHO HAVE MUSIC IN THEIR HEADS AND THEY PRACTICE WORK HARD AT IT--- BRING THEM IN A GROUP OF MUSICIANS AND IT'S A HEAD ACHE FOR THE REST OF US, THERE'S NO WAY TO EXPLAIN TO THEM. THERE'S NOTHING STRONGER THAN WHAT'S IN ONE'S OWN MIND AND THEY STILL DON'T GET IT AND THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY 5 OTHER PEOPLE ON THE SAME PAGE DON'T GET IT AND THEIR PERSISTENT WITH IT? IT SHOULD BE AGAINST THE LAW FOR SOME PEOPLE TO OWN AN INSTRUMENT. IAM IN THE PROCESS OF DEVELOPING A HUMAN MOUSE TRAP CONSTRUCED OF VERY HIGH TENSION GUITAR STRINGS AND GIBSON HEAD STOCKS.
