The grey smoke is usually more in to the blue colour. It looks like Mike has a special place in his heart for Subaru. I would have to say you probably have a modified Subaru because most of the stock cars are generally reliable .

I just had grey smoke in a 2017 wrx, replaced the turbo and seems to have fixed it.

How about grey ish smoke (not condensation) that dissipates at op temp, only when the car sits a few days with ethanol in it. Doesn’t occur with pump gas. 11 STI.
