I Made Yukihira's Transforming Rice! (50 Hour Version)

Today I try to improve on one of my favorite recipes, Yukihira's transforming rice! The original is amazing... But can I make it better?

It sounds like you're missing some of the more food-industry-centered anime, with the multiple recent returns to the Food Wars well. Currently, it seems that that niche is mostly covered by Jdrama, not anime.
Not only did the live action version of Isekai Izakaya (available on Viki) go further than the anime, it also includes a touching storyline about Taishou and his chef mentor. Meanwhile, Netflix has featured two Jdrama about the fine dining world. Fermat's Cuisine really is like if Food Wars replaced the foodgasms with Carl Sagan's cosmos reactions. Grand Maison Tokyo is like if Shinomiya didn't meet Megumi until they were older adults, having dealt with career trajectories not living up to their own expectations..

Isekai Izakaya was a neat little show, has a few nice looking dishes but most of it is just standard jp food fare, lots of brown and fried stuff. We could really do with a good new food centric anime.

Not gonna lie, but I've been writing a story (mostly to entertain myself), and in one early scene, I have one of the main characters go through the cooking process, and it was basically your video from way back when where you did your own take on the transforming rice. Seriously, so many times that I went paused, went back, and even used auto-captions (not that those really worked) because I wanted to get the details you shared down. I even had the character who cooked it say that he got the idea from (to quote from the story) "watching an online video of a chef who would watch fictional shows involving cooking as a main feature and sometimes recreating dishes from those shows just to see how they actually tasted."

Just want to give a heads-up that now I'm probably going to use your 50-hour rice for a later scene in that story.
