I think that if people have display quality models they should definitely play with them. You don't have to feel pressured to have your army all look insane and display quality by any stretch of the imagination, but if you yourself are a talented painter or hire a professional to do a piece for you. I definitely think you should be playing with that piece, in my opinion I feel like you'll become even more attached to it over time by actually using it rather than just letting it sit on a shelf.
