I don't think even middle class people able to send 70L for marriage..the range mentioned in vedio is for rich people

My family can spend 50 lakh on wedding, But I'll do court marriage
And travel the world with that money

My marriage expenses from Groom side in 2022 was 30 lakhs. Here's the breakdown.
Gold Jewellery - 10 lakhs (200gm) dhared between both of us.
Clothes for her - 1.5 Lakhs
Wedding Hall - 2 lakhs
Decoration - 1.5 lakhs
Catering - 5 lakhs
Photography and Videography- 2 lakhs incl pre wedding
Makeup and traditional decoration - 1 lakh
Return gifts - 2 lakhs
Misc 1-1.5 lakhs.

That's little bit overkill for middle-class wedding as well.

How did she mention 70 lakhs for middle class ? For 70 lakhs, we buy 2 plots 25km from City center for future purpose.

The definition of middle class these days is being exaggerated.! Spending 70 lakhs on a wedding? That's absurd.! A budget of 20 lakhs, shared by both the bride's and groom's families, can still make for a grand wedding in a Tier 2 city.

Note: Middle-class families often have a habit of purchasing gold for their daughter or son. Considering this, they might additionally purchase gold worth around 5 lakh during their marriage.

Now, after having an extravagant show-off wedding, who can guarantee that the couple will have a great married life? Marriage can happen in a registrar's office with just a mangalsutra, and even then, there’s no assurance that the couple will live happily ever after.

Instead, why not save that money to travel, invest in a healthier lifestyle for themselves, and secure a better future for their kids?

Calculations are absurd.
150 rooms for 2 days = 300 nights.
1 Cr means 30k/night. You can easily get 5 stars at around 15k-20k/night.
Booking entire hotel should be cheaper

This is not at all relatable. Becoz this is talking on the basis of luxury wedding not a middle class wedding . Which should be ideal

As someone who is planning a wedding in family, this is literally of NO help.
The figures quoted here are exaggerated and wrong.
She suggested 60 lakhs for food and drink for 300 people.
Later she only suggested minimum 4k per meal.
All this will only comes to 60 lakh, the drinks are minimum 20-30 lakhs. This is just to suggest that her own figures were inconsistent.
Now to anyone who is feeling poor, after watching this. She is talking about may be 0.1% of the wedding thats happening in india. The budget she is quoting, is apparently not of wedding but of just the celebration.
Upper middle class to high class families get married with 2-4cr budget which has gold also included.
And in celebration, its all about how much money you wanna put.
There is no end to it.
Get yourself involved, talk to few people and put some of your own creativity.
Nothing will beat your own creativity.

Wtf is she preaching? To impress that "Fufaji" who doesn't give a damn. Podcasts like this are setting unrealistic expectations for a common man. How mean can people be to brainwash an entire generation to believe that this shit is important? Seriously! Horrible! This word "average" is so misleading.

The budget for a wedding is, what you can comfortably spend without feeling stressed out. I have seen several Americans, just book a boat for a day & perform the wedding, some even exchange wows in public parks & some some spend $30, 000 on a dress. The essence is, our primary responsibility is to ensure ours & our parents health, happiness & well being.

One of first Sharan’s podcast where he intervened lesser. Because he was busy doing calculations for his own wedding in his head.
He was bowled over when he heard minimum 10 crore. But as soon as she mentioned 3 crore he is like ahh okay now we are talking
