Shetland on tv is such a good programme. If nothing else, I love watching the ferries and seeing the landscape.the acting and stories are good as well.

I loved Snow and Rose, both the words and the illustrations.

Oooh Our Wives Under the Sea sounds so good. I'm fascinated/horrified by doppelgänger stories, and that's the vibe I'm getting from your description.

At this time, thanks to your persistent praise of her, Frieda Klein is dominating my life. All other reading has been cast aside for now and I am devouring Nicci French's books.

Would you consider doing a recommendation video of middle grade fairy tale retellings ?

Shetland is one of my fave shows ever. I’ll be interested to see what you think of the first book - I might have to check it out!

I love Snow and Rose - I think Emily Winfield Martin does a great job with this retelling + adds some fun new characters. She is one of my favorites illustrators as well. I am also a fan of Patricia Highsmith. I've read 3 of her Tom Ripley books, but I have them all + the biography about her called The Talented Ms. Highsmith (or something similar to that if that is not the exact title). I've been exposed to the rest of her work via Hitchcock films and I love them all.

I’ve read The Christie Affair. It wasn’t the story I was expecting but still moving and entertaining.

Also I don't know if you know the Backlisted podcast, but they have an episode on Edith's Diary.

Read the books and then watch Shetland! It's one of my favourite shows ever! I have an issue with Highsmith, not her writing but her, which makes me reluctant to read her.

I was convinced by your Patricia Highsmith vlog and picked up Deep Water and oh boy, the fever is real! I'm almost done with it and I'm already excited to pick up another one of hers!

I’m so excited for my copy of Thinking With Trees to arrive!
Also, I just added you on Goodreads, please ignore my strange message! I accidentally pressed send instead of the backspace 😅

What an intriguing stack of books! I added a few to my own TBR. May I ask about the gorgeous necklace you're wearing? It is so stunning.

Emily Winfield Martin is my absolute favorite artist. I read that particular book a few years back but love everything she does.

A great haul. I have ordered The Talented Mr. Ripley for a read along next year. Might have to check out her other books as well. Your most anticipated books of 2022 sound very interesting. 😊💙

Regarding The Christie Affair, I’m really torn. I bought, but haven’t read yet, The Mystery of Mrs Christie by Marie Benedict, which also tells the tale of her missing days. It seems strange that there would be two books that sound so similar published relatively close together, but I guess it must happen pretty frequently. So I’m torn because I’m not sure which one to read. I’m not sure reading both about such a specific event makes sense. Any thoughts?

I am definitely going to pick up a copy of The Heath and also a copy of On Hampstead Heath by Marika Cobbold.
