Today we have received one of the most requested tools in the shop. We got ourselves a Hewitt Inertia Dyno!!! Now we can test small engine horse power! We have an awesome supporter of the channel Mark that purchased the dyno for your entertainment. Make sure to check the link out below for Marks dealer account for Amsoil.

Red, I'm curious why so much octane? That's a good horsepower comparison test right there. Octane is a fuels resistance to detonation. Higher octane burns slower. High compression engines have higher cylinder pressures which can pre-ignite 87 octane gas. Hence, high compression engines needing higher octane....to prevent pre-ignition. On a low compression engine like this, 87 is more than sufficient. Higher octane in low compression engines can actually REDUCE power! Try it on the dyno and see. 87 to 89 octane non-ethanol Rec fuel is all you should need for them to ripsnot! Very excited about this dyno...can't wait to see the extra content, and see how your builds respond :D

Cool never realized you could get a small engine dyno like this . Thanks you for sharing and thanks for the video my man

Cant wait to see this series. It is amazing what a difference in power you feel from these small engines with simple modifications. I am interested to see just how much difference parts make because just doing a stage one kit on my minibike felt like a big difference.

I can't wait to start seeing the big 420 and 440 builds running on this. I've always wondered if the numbers were realistic.

It'll be nice to have real data to work with! Can't wait!

Super stoked to see some small engine dyno videos!! I have been curious to see this for a long time!! I've really wanted to build a small engine for reliable horsepower. You should do a sort of mini "Engine Masters" series showing the different things that add the most and least to the power of the engines!

Awesome!!!!
Endless possibilities!!!
Put a plexiglass shield on that pedestal and wear your safety glasses for those exploding turbo and nitrous projects!
👍👍👍

I would love to see a dollars to horse power video in a 212. Also like a 3 engine stock comparison. 212, ghost 212, and 224 predator engines.

Very excited for you. Dyno's are so important to engine builds in fact guys like Kaase don't use head flow numbers anymore just the dyno because they saw in some heads increased flow actually made less horsepower.

Cool setup that will give some valuable information.

I love this dyno and the black and white graph. RPM and TOUG can I also get a line for air fuel measurment?

I'm so happy that you guys got an awesome new toy. I look forward to seeing what kind of power you guys can make. Keep up the good work and keep believing. March on brothers, march on.
