Battery life is improving, but the average person spends over 4 hours daily on their phone, adding up to over 9 years from ages 15 to 70. I realised my phone addiction affected my interactions with my kids, so I decided enough was enough: I needed to reduce my screen time.

I switched to silent mode, turned off notifications, and uninstalled social media apps. I also cleaned my homepage, disabled tap to wake and raise to wake, and set my screen to grayscale all to avoid distractions from my phone. Using alternative tech like smartwatches and smart glasses helped me stay connected without constantly reaching for my phone. I also turned off voicemail and set time limits on apps. After implementing these digital detox strategies, I cut my screen time from over 4 hours to less than an hour per day. And this enabled me spend more quality time with my family, becoming more present and engaged in their lives!

Separate phone for the gym, play music and write workout notes on my pixel 7a and can take a photo if I need. That way I don't get distracted with work or socials

Great video. I will definitely use some of the tips. However it's a little bit tricky as I use smartphone to make and edit my content 😊

Sticking with the iPhone 13 mini helps keep my screen time reasonable. I hope actual small phones make a comeback.

One of many reasons I think small phones (with screens smaller than 5.5 inches) have disappeared is that apps aim to capture people's attention and increase screen time, which is more effective on larger screens. There aren't many incentives to keep small phones around when they don't help gather attention for profit-making.

I'm using a minimalistic launcher to organize my home screen and app menu. The two best so far are before launcher (you can block everything except the home screen) and the olauncher (simple and nice).

You can use mods on *modes and routines* app to make it disable other apps while working out and it will enable them again when you finish 10:40
