Ive been playing ETS2 since around 2012. The best tip i can give is to Enjoy the game. Take it slow, pop in some music and enjoy it. Its about the journey after all.

1/ Don't hire drivers if you don't have trucks to assign them too.

Do hire drivers if you have a few spare trucks knocking around the map. 🤣

2. When doing long deliveries from say Portugal to Scotland, try to remember that us Brits are a bit weird and tend to drive on completely the wrong side of the road.
3. When coming off a lengthy ATS play session to cram in a few ETS2 deliveries, don't forget that we don't turn right on red.
4. You're doing 60mph and approaching a level crossing (train crossing), slow down. Sometimes the invisible wall drops before the barriers do (or it'll drop when your trailer is halfway across).
5. You're testing the max speed of your truck on the wide open roads of Germany, suddenly you see a medium high pile of soil/dirt/mud/whatever. Do you go for it or not?

3:02 Don't use an 8x4 with this kind of trailer.

Use proper trailers to use with this chassis and use 2 and 3 Axles for normal trailers.

I mix the mirror do/don't, I use the right HUD mirror and just look for the left one

That last one : I am NOT going through all 150+ of my drivers again to tell them how to improve I just let them get on with it. It doesn't make any difference giving them instructions like that.

For mirrors, the game supports very wide aspect ratios, I have dual monitor 5120x1440 and both mirrors fit on the screen. The bevels of the monitor are of course a bit annyoing, but by adjusting the camera you can align it with the pillar of the cabin. Works for me at least.
