Regarding the speed of submarines. First, NOBODY's going to tell you. Second, the assumption should be that they move as fast as they can while being a nightmare to detect. Defensive submarines for a battle-group can likely sustain the speed of the entire group, but as soon as that group enters its operational area, accompanying submarines will essentially become holes in the water while they listen for adversarial ships and submarines.

Could you imagine what would happen to the poor bastard that sunk a U.S. carrier, you know what happened to Iran's navy when they hit a U.S. ship with a mine in the 80's.

The small flat top in between the aircraft carriers is probably an Amphibious assault ship. That carries marine helicopters and other VSTOL aircraft. That type of ship is sometimes referred to as a Gatorfreighter.

Your video commentary always makes me giggle 😂 you seem so geeked and genuinely excited by all the carriers!

To put it in perspective, an Iowa class battleship from WWII cost $100 million or $1.7 billion accounting for inflation, and the USS Gerald R Ford cost a whopping $13 billion.

If someone actually damaged a carrier, let alone sunk one, the US wouldn't take that well. Temper temper comes to mind

The F22 is almost 30 years old and still dominates the sky. Now think about what they could have cooked up since then that you don't even know about yet.

Former US Marine grunt here. Same time frame as you (08-13). Love seeing you channel and supporting one of my brothers from across the pond!
“Who’s the guy in the corner??” Haha so funny.

I'll tell you now that, if someone ever sank one of our carriers, they would find out why you don't touch our biggest boats in the most horrific way. The public would be supportive of this as well. Americans would be reunited once again against a common enemy.

Who’s the bloke in the corner carrying on???

As a Brit I thought you’d call it a Dalek instead of a Minion

The ship that is in between the two big carriers is actually a carrier. It's a much smaller carrier, and it is used as an amphibious landing craft that can deploy tanks and troops.

I’ll never get the people who click on a reaction video and then get upset when the person reacts or gives insight like come on… if you wanna watch the un-interrupted video, go watch that one, you goober.

Or to put it simpler, my brother in Christ you clicked on an Original Human video. You CANNOT be that shocked when Original Human speaks

When you see a fleet like that from the USA. It’s really not entirely what you see you should be afraid of. It’s what you can’t lurking below the surface that will really ruin your day.

CVN-70, USS Carl Vinson FTW! I did the 1990 Westpac on her. Beautiful, new, carrier with three hangar bays. Crazy!

Christ on a bike! I'm now using that for everything 😂

That is one carrier strike group. The other one you see is probably a LCAC transport ship.which also has a deck for rotary aircraft (helicopters), and a boatload of marines.

Dude that's madness that it's like there are no penalties for the size of the ship. Build a massive floating city? Sure. Put enough armor on it to resist mines and torpedoes? Sure. Hey while we're at it let's make it fast enough to just drive away from attacking submarines. Sure.

CV-63, that's the USS Kitty Hawk. I did four Westpacs on CV-64, America's Flag Ship, the USS Constellation.
