Did God just spare the church from being devoured by the dragon?
God has given His Church this time to repent, seek God, and prepare for the coming tribulation. These political events are a repeat of history on a larger worldwide scale.
Ecclesiastes 1:9 That which hath been is that which shall be; and that which hath been done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
1 Peter 5:8 BE SOBER, BE WATCHFUL: your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
God exhorts us in his word to be ready to meet him, to be found doing his will, and to watch for the signs he has spoken about so that we will not be found sleeping or unaware of the times and seasons. Tribulation is just ahead, and the Church needs to be spiritually prepared...
Luke 14:17 and he sent forth his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready. 18 And THEY ALL WITH ONE CONSENT BEGAN TO MAKE EXCUSE. The first said unto him, I have bought a field, and I must needs go out and see it; I pray thee have me excused. 19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them; I pray thee have me excused.
