Players who got drafted in 96-97 played in the best era. They got to play with MJ’s Bulls, Hakeem’s Rockets, Duncan’s Spurs, Lakers Shaq & Kobe all the way to LeBron KD, Steph and the big talents of three decades.

To me it was the 2000s all the way up to early to mid 2010s. Some may not say it’s the best, but it was my favorite

I think 2000s was a perfect balance between the past and the future, the fact u could play physical real defense without having to full on hurt your opponent, the offense and defense rules were more equal, people played their positions the right way but still did things like 3s and lay ups and etc etc, and I didn’t start watching basketball until 2016

Music and NBA were best in 90s, and much respect for the 80s

He values the talent he played against more than the talent of other eras because... that's the era he played in. Guys who played in the 60's played against Russell, Wilt, Oscar, West, Baylor, Pettit. 70's: Kateem, Havlicek, Dr. J, Cowens, Frazier, Reed, Barry. 80's: Magic, Bird, Moses, Isiah, Jordan, Benard King. 90's: Jordan, Hakeem, Robinson, Barkley, Malone, Shaq. The list can go on for each decade.

Kobe was the reason I fell in love with basketball

The era that was beating the NFL in ratings. 🙏🏾

For me it was the mid 90s early 2000s. I enjoyed watching Kobe’s run. And then golden state vs lakers. But overall mid 90s to the early 2000s were my favorite times.

Gill actually makes a good point here. Of most people's top 10 list played in his era and it was super competitive

1990s to around 2012. All the Super Teams, Flopping. Rest Games, Politics and a lack of development for small market teams made this era softer than any

Probably Gils best answer he could give!!! 👏🏽

But a 40 year old John Stockton gave him that work😂😂😂. He knows what’s up

He (Gilbert Arenas) is RIGHT As he*L IMO when he said he played against a Sh*t load of GREATS when he played, Gil definitely played in an Impeccable era!!

Good point. Gill played with a bunch of greats.

Valid points. I think the era's got softer due to the rules changing and the game evolving

I started watching basketball in the 80s with my pops but the 90s and early 2000s was my favorite era....I used to get chills back then especially watching basketball on NBC with that old NBA theme song on NBC

And Gil was one of those greats. Before the injuries and the unfortunate nonsense he was right up there at that time.

I don't recall anybody in the 70s calling the 80s with soft!

My era is the 90’s but the 2000’s was not soft at all. And is arguably the best era. I won’t disagree with anyone who loves 2000’s basket ball
