I use feather client and I love it. While you have to port forward to host from your pc. Or in some cases router doesn't even allow port forward. Feather Client provides its own proxy network. Installing mods on client is super easy. Installing mods and changing config files is easier. As if mods doesn't work or requires other stuff. It provides a clean crash report with possible solutions. The best to play with your friends.

Essential is also really good for multiplayer, you run it on your computer and you can have mods.

my issue for aternos is that it doesnt have some mods that you would want to put in the server and theres no way to access the files so you cant just force the mod
