You don't have this Medicare advantage issue quite right. Medicare Advantage companies receive a senior/customer's Medcare premiums from the government, which are deducted from the seniors/customer's social security check. The insurance companies lure seniors into giving-up Medicare coverage, by offering perks such as a small kick-back on premiums, rewards points for buying substandard medications, and the like. In order to make a profit, the companies need to retain the premiums but cover payment of little or no health costs. By law. Med. Adv. companies are supposed to approve health care expenses upon the same standard as Medicare. To avoid penalties or prosecution for non-compliance with coverage regulations, the companies simply evaluate a requested procedure as unnecessary. Thereafter the companies proceed to exhaust seniors with appeals --until death or resignation. Not to some veteran's credit, a veteran can take the perks but avoid denial of care by going to the VA. It is the receipt of premiums without covering healthcare costs which constitutes the writer's allegation fraud, rather than billing government reimbursement of healthcare expenses. Also, note: the Bush Administration arranged an exemption for insurance companies from the law prohibiting use of the word "Medicare" by anyone except Medicare, customers, and providers. Due to the use of the word, "Medicare" in the phrase "Medcare Advantage" many seniors think they still have Medicare. The don't. All the customer has is insurance which will deny coverage until the appeals process is exhausted. Americans really need to learn about this.

A resounding yes! I completely support the President’s decision to pardon his son. On the other hand I am absolutely disgusted with the Democratic leadership who jumped on the “high and mighty” train that the Democrats always pull out in situations like this. Democrats really don’t need Republicans to criticize and condemn them. We do a good job of doing that on our own. This does not make me proud to say I am a Democrat!
