**Update**

The HTC EVO 3D is one of the most eagerly awaited cell phones this year. Featuring a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and a 540 x 960 display, the technical goodness in the EVO 3D just keeps going and going. Couple that with Sprint's WiMax 4G network speeds and you'd think that there could be nothing else you'd want in a cell phone. Then there's the 3D photo and video capability.

In this extensive video review, Wirefly's Bob Kovacs runs through the features and capabilities of the HTC EVO 3D.

@fishface2335 You know that I did a "Schmackdown" video where I compared the EVO 3D and the Sensation head-to-head, right? Your question is answered in that video. (Hint: It starts with "E" and ends with "D".)

You're welcome! I got a lot of questions about whether the UI was 3D, so I put that message in the video. Glad to hear it helped.

@majudiafandi You know that I have a Schmackdown video comparing the EVO 3D with the Sensation, right? If you haven't seen it, take a look... it answers your question.

I've owned my EVO 3D for only a few days now, and I'm very happy. My benchmarks didn't yield scores quite as high as yours, but still better than most. My only gripe with the phone is that my Sprint Nascar app isn't working. It's a hefty phone, but considering all it has to offer, it's worth its weight.

Hi thatgrliluv,
Thanks for telling us how much you like your EVO 3D. We always like to hear from people that use the phone everyday. You give us the best long term details about the phone.

Two big carriers in the US (Verizon and Sprint) use a cellular technology called CDMA. With this technology, the carrier programs the phone number directly into the phone - no SIM is used. Instead of the account information being on a SIM, it's programmed over the network directly into the phone.

@MusicFTW95 Sorry, Wirefly sells in the US only, and I'm not familiar with the choices you have. You should ask your question on a blog or site that features phones for your area.

@Gawdsbud I meant to say "Ask your carrier."

The EVO 3D that Sprint sells does not have a SIM slot. You could buy an unlocked one, but there'd be no place for your SIM.

Hi TLumVids,
Yes you can buy a phone on Ebay and not affect your contract. Just purchase the phone (make sure it is a Sprint compatibly phone) and call Sprint and give them the new serial number. Then you can sell your iPhone if you want or just use it as an iPod touch. You will still have the remainder of your contract with Sprint that you signed when you got your iPhone. Hope this helps.

@oldschoolraptor AT&T or Sprint? 3D camera or 2D camera? AMOLED display or LCD? I have a soft spot for Sprint (I worked at Sprint for several years), so I lean toward Sprint phones. However, the Infuse is pretty darn nice... it's a tough choice.

@dusomtin I don't know how the battery life compares between the EVO 3D and the DROID Incredible 2, but the phones have several important differences:

-One is on Sprint (EVO 3D) and the other is Verizon

-EVO 3D has a 4.3" display with 540x960 resolution

-EVO 3D has 4G

-EVO 3D has a bigger battery (1650mAh vs 1450mAh)

so ive had this phone now for 2 days and today i gave the battery a full test. I unplugged it at 8am, started the day off with heavy use, downloaded music, took several screen shots, browsing made 30 min phone call and then listened to music, several txts during the day and used my gps for about 20 minutes. Bounced between 3g 4g as well as wifi throughout the day, and i got a solid 10 hours. I played a few games but nothing major and only for a short time. Phones a beast. 3d games are the shizz

@traylzee The main camera (both 2D and 3D) has an easy-to-use timer that can be set to 3 seconds or 10 seconds. That will work for self portraits, as long as you prop the phone up on something. Keep in mind that the 3D effect only works if the EVO 3D is horizontal.

@UgoIgo Yes, the Sprint version of the EVO 3D does not have a SIM slot. CDMA phones do not use SIMs.

Many foreign countries have CDMA networks, and you can roam with the EVO 3D on those networks. However, CDMA networks are not as common internationally as GSM networks. I've not tried to use a CDMA phone internationally, but my understanding is that it can be done.

@DubStepEdition Sprint phones do not use SIM cards in the US. You can take a phone all over North America and not need a SIM. And Sprint has 4G that works pretty well, if you are in an area with good coverage... again, no SIM required. So it all depends on where you live.

@rinaldyvincent The system that Verizon and Sprint use for 3G connection is called CDMA, which does not require a SIM. In the case of the EVO 3D, Sprint uses the device's serial number (called the MEID) to activate the phone. Once Sprint (or Verizon) activates a CDMA phone, you can use it for calls, data, or whatever you want. No SIM is required, but you have to go through the carrier (Sprint or Verizon) to activate the phone.
