Fast and loose watercolour painting with the big brush

Had a bit of a struggle with this one. I was trying to be too delicate with my brushstrokes instead of just going for it. Consequently the result was disappointing so I decided to rewet it and have another go but this time loosened up a bit.

Hi Steven. This was initially a departure from your usual method but I love the way you can change your style in a jot. I think when you started, the painting was understated but nonetheless still magical as it developed. Personally, I would have loved to see you finish in that initial style. I’m always inspired by the way you work. I couldn’t work out what the large foreground mass was supposed to be; water or a field scape and was waiting for some development in that area. Did you leave it as a nod to how you originally began the work? Thank you so much for all your superb painting demo’s.
