Cutting pipe with a plasma cutter is tough. We use drag tips so you don't have to herd the wheels where you want it to go. We started to add a chuck to cut tubing on the CNC plasma table and was working bugs out of it when my son decided that he didn't want a rock crawler. Noe he has to cut up some 6" by .25" tubing in the near future, so we are going to get the bugs out of the tubing cutting part. I remember the trouble of printing out a pattern, tracing a saddle and cutting it out with a hand held plasma torch on about 23 pieces of 2 3/8" drill stem.

a trick l use is magnetic tape, you can bend it any witch way on steel using a drag tip, and just rest the gun against it like you would with a straight edge, ,

Hi Kevin, i have a question for you.. Im about to build a roof rack for my Jeep and im having some tube issues. Lets say i have a 5ft long 1" tube. Now i want to cut each end 45 degrees.. That´s not much of a problem. The problem is: How do i get the Cuts to match at both ends?? Just a Little twist on the Cuts and it´s useless..
Hope you understand what i mean. Thank you (and your wife of course) for your great videos.
Best regards, Jimmy.

2:00 THe left side of the screen looks like a weld shop, but the right side looks like a science lab with that clean bluish wall and the round structure.

Another great idea!

Never even thought about that...

Damn gray hairs getting in my eyes!!

A little trick I learned. It's easier to drag than to push the gun. A much smoother cut, even with a pattern, training wheels, etc.

Spoiled ! I'm still old school with my Oxyacetylene outfit ! I wish I had someone to let me have those machines for free ! I think you have more welding equipment than I have welding electrodes ! Lol I got a kick out of Japanese sumo wrestling, when I went there a few years ago ! Most were 5' 6" - 5' 8", I'm 6' 2" approx. 330# ! Dwarfed most of them ! Fun to watch ! Mess with Akibono, I don't think so ! I had alot of fun, expensive trip, enjoy your stay ! Maybe, Santa Claus will bring me a Hypotherm 45 plasma cutter ! Take care, Kevin !

Kevin have you ever noticed how your drink tastes different after using the plasma cutter . its a type of oxygen from the atmosphere that is combining with the water . i think it is good for us .
