I do hope you all will pardon (and maybe even have a laugh) at the tongue-in-cheek tone of today's video! How many of you have had to give a haircut to yourself or a member of your household in the recent weeks?

Morgan is really just here like "okay but have you considered doing... literally whatever you want"

If there's one thing I've learned about hair growth in my 10+ years as a hair YouTuber, it's that it's 90% genes. Your hair will either grow, or it won't. I started out on my journey with every intention of growing my hair to look just like yours but no matter how much I trim, don't trim, wash, don't wash, treat, don't treat, oil, mask, rinse... If it's not there, it's not happening. Better learn to enjoy whatever you're given 😁

Luckily, the longer your hair is, the harder it is for other people to tell if you cut it unevenly.

I laughed so hard at the don't cut your hair part! "If you would like your hair to be longer. . . STOP....CUTTING...IT...OFF!" I've been growing my hair out for a few years now and get lots of comments and questions too. People always give me the strangest look when my response to how my hair got so long is a blunt, "I don't cut it." Just like you said everyone thinks there's a magical secret to getting long hair. I love Sassy Morgan. She needs to come out to play more often!

this was a breath of fresh air. So tired of people telling you the "best" way to do your own hair. I've cut mine for years and even did my husband's. It's hair people, mess it up it will grow back. The only problem I ever had was getting the back cut straight.

People always ask me, "Is it hard to wash?" or "how long does it take to wash your hair?"
Me: "Depends on how lazy I am that day."
It's either a fast shower...or a live singing performance that includes hair washing.

This is truth.
I'm a black girl and after years of trimming, specialist products and thin tooth combs that pull out enough hair to make a wig per week, my family and I all went old fashioned, growth and better condition was clear after months.

I wash my hairbrush whenever I wash my hair, because while redistributing the oils already in my hair is good, I don't want to reintroduce any dirt from before I washed it.

Sounds about right, and refreshing to see other people talking about just not cutting it.
Maths: If your hair grows 1/2 inch a month, and you cut off 2 inches every 4 months, you have gained zero length. Might have fewer splits, but it won't be longer.

Another thing to be aware of regarding hair length potential. I believe I learned a long time ago that there are differences in how long each person's hair grows before it falls out (like a lifespan) and how fast one's hair grows. I'm sure one's general state of health and age may factor in as well. So your advice is perfect for growing hair to each person's potential maximum length. 😊 This is a fancy way of saying that not everyone can achieve waist length (or longer) hair.

When I first saw the title I screeched, "Noooo! Don't cut your hair!" Then I watched the video and went, "Oh...I do that once in a great while...whenever I actually remember." I have been growing my hair out for thirteen years, I stopped letting my mom cut it at 9, and now it is almost four feet long. It's beautiful...I've also sat on it, shut doors on it, gotten it caught in things, and...believe it or not, I've actually stepped on it. I bent over to pick up a soccer ball, my braid went under my shoe and I ended up doing a somersault! XD

That little mushroom embroidery floating above your head makes it look like you ´ve just had a very fungal idea 😄

1. Part you hair as you normally would when you cut
2. Conditioning thoroughly will lessen wispiness
3. Point cutting (cutting up into the hair rather than strait across) makes it look more natural
4. If you want your hair to grow faster have a balanced diet and eat lots of proteins

Okay that’s all my hair growth and cutting advice even though I chopped mine off last year

I can’t tell you how many times I literally “laughed out loud” at this! Unfortunately I woke up my husband but he’ll live. Thank you for your glorious tongue in cheek!

Oh, thank you so much! Finally, someone with long hair who doesn’t claim there’s any hair ‘woo’ that’s going to overcome genes and hormones. Stunning hair, btw!

“Want long hair? STOP CUTTING IT OFF!”
I love this so much!!!

The secret to long hair: have the long hair genes! 😂 Seriously, genetics determine how long a hair will grow until the follicle sheds it and stars a new shaft. Good scalp and hair health can give you a good few inches more but that's it.

My hair grows maaaybe 3-4 inches a year, I'm watching this video like a pug taking notes from an Afghan hound 😂

the joys of having straight hair. As a curly, I cannot stop trimming and I have to avoid brushes like the COVID-19
