I own this car and the 220 range is pretty standard. Happy to see my favorite EV channel confirms my experience!

I owned the XC40 for 1 year and now the Tesla Model Y for 4 months. The Tesla with its charging network is fantastic but if the Volvo had 350 miles I would go back to the Volvo. The quality, the smooth quiet ride and even though the screen is smaller and Tesla has great software the Volvo did some things better with the Google based system. Lower price, increase range would put it toward the top in my opinion.

We bought the XC40 Recharge and it is a fantastic commuter, especially with charging at both of our workplaces provided for free. Everything about it is perfectly refined as such, IMO. No fast charging needed we actually limit the charging to 30 amps even at home where we charge overnight when needed.

I think I was more anxious at home watching this video than you were driving it down to 0%
I love that Volvo. If Volvo gives it a bigger battery and a bit longer range, it will be very likely my next car.

I like the speed limiting. Think will keep people from running out.

great review Jordon, as always both you and Kyle do a fantastic job. Do you think that Volvo's position as a luxury vehicle is justified over say an Iconiq 5 or EV 6. Big difference in price?

Famous last words “I know what I’m doing”. Great video.

Wish these had slightly more range or a slightly lower price

The C40 is the only coupe SUV that looks good IMO.

Would be cool to see a spreadsheet of all the tests

Nice video, would like to have actual detail about how long the charging time was. You kept saying stuff like "i've been waiting so long" for it to charge. But it would helpful to know specifically how long. Was it 10 minutes? 15 minutes? 20 minutes? etc.

New batteries coming for MY24 - will make this car much more competitive

Am I the only person who noticed that your charging stations are called "kum & go"? Who thought that was a good idea hahaha

I love my c40. For those saying they wished it was cheaper, you can almost always get these at an 8-11% discount if you ask.

Since you have Software 2.1 and Volvo has been constantly tweaking the range efficiencies in the last few releases the range does not surprise me. Around town I find that if I were to run 100%to 0% I could get 240 miles usually. I run pack from 80% to 30% around town. I have the C40 and wife has XC40 and we both get similar range.

Love the range test. How bout a range test on normal driving, rather than consistent 70mph? Also on 20-80% charging instead of 0-100%. For example, driving from LA to Las Vegas, one is confronted with driving at 80 mph slow lane (75 is "limit"), but have to very often accelerate to 90 mph to pass the trucks etc on the fast lane. Not sure how you would do it to keep the consistency to make it comparable model to model. But I think it would be useful. Perhaps do a from/to turn around in 1 hour, and see how much power the car need to accomplish that.

When I do a range test that's exactly how I do it as well I set my GPS at the charger while I'm driving away to know when I should turn around. Gets you very close to zero. I couldn't help but notice one of your updates showed you were going 74 was there a slowdown at one point and you had to offset the difference for a bit?

pilot assist, at least in my polestar, is capacitive and it wants two hands when it goes off

I would want a luxury version of the Volvo not a sport model. Something to compete with the Cadillac Lyriq
