Elliot was George Barrows. He played Herbie the Gorilla/Thomas F. Kelly, on "The Beverly Hillbillies".

Also, he was Gorgo the Gorilla, on "The Addams Family". He and Lurch were rivals. Lurch was Ted Cassidy, who also voice The Hulk's growls
