This is the second part of our mitochondria series. In the first video, we discussed how mitochondria function as the biological microprocessors powering life. In this episode, we dive into their plasticity and how they adapt to signals like exercise and cancer.
Learn how mitochondria function like brain networks, interact with the nucleus, and influence overall cellular and body health. Includes visuals of mitochondrial dynamics, fusion/fission, and evolution.

Do you read from an outline on your phone while walking or are most these videos entirely from memory? I’m continually impressed about how you seem to just be hiking and pulling 20-60 minute lectures from memory in such an organized fashion. Beautiful mind!

Would love to see more from you on mitochondria and mental health like Dr. Palmer’s theory in Brain Energy. I am in the process of treating my son’s schizophrenia with this theory including ketogenic metabolic therapy, circadian rhythm and light therapy, exercise, grounding and meditation. We are making progress, it is slow but he is improving. Learning about the mitochondria science helps me keep hope. Thank you!

This is a sharp reminder to me of just how important exercise is for overall health. I intend to do something about that. Thanks.

You are so brilliant, doctor! I wish I had the science and medical education to have a deeper understanding of both. Your explanations are very good for those of us without a science background. Our bodies are truly miraculous! Thank you for sharing.

The immense complexity of what happens inside tiny little cells is mind blowing.
How can any one with intellectual understanding believe these micro complexities just randomly evolved?
The existence of life is beyond our current scientific beliefs. 😲

Mitochondria are so fascinating - they‘ve awaken my interest in biology when we had to study the cell and its organelles as school homework in primary school:), long time ago but I still love to learn about new findings on mitochondrial processes! Thanks for that❣️

What a superbly informative channel and appreciate the impartiality that is used when presenting information. Would love it if you would take an interest and review the austism situation across the western world a JFKs undertaking to find the cause[s].

this is great!! . I’ll just offer a note on English, if I may: the plural of "mitochondrion" is "mitochondria"

Are you going to do a video on Prions and the connection with the vagus nerve. Wondering if there could be a way of testing of the vagus nerve before infectious prions spread too far. Just been hearing about prion research with CJD now in the news.

Do you plan to coauthor a university textbook on mitochondria? Don't you think doctors and biologists and other human science students should be aware of these concepts? ❤❤❤
