The best thing is to accept the trap as it gives you piece advantage and then continue with normal development and sensible play.

Be7 instead of f6 would force the Knight to retreat instead of sacrificing. If the knight is sacrificed on f7, now the King can take it and black can play Kf8 after the Bishop's check. Also, he can play g6 after a Queen threat from h5 or Nf6 if the threat is from f3. The trap ONLY works if black tries to kick the knight with h6.

Ke8 is like the only losing move lol. Black is completely safe (and winning) after Bc4+ Kg6. For example Qg4+ Kh7 Qf5+ g6 Qf7+ Bg7

Once accept Nxf7, after Bc4+, the actual best move is Kg6! which is totally counterintuitive. The idea is try to hide the king on h7 square.

If white keep check black king, simply block it while also develop the pieces.

If black can keep his sensible moves, black is winning (due to extra pieces too)

there are a lot of such trap lines, and most of them can be refuted by correct play. but then there are many sch traps and there will new never seen before too. if you try to memorize the best engine lines, it will be difficult and u might miss something.
So the best is to stick to main principles as they generalize on most of the positions. here white went for Ng5(not to move same piece twice). Black should not reply with h6 as it weakens the king side and does not help in development. instead any other developing move is better.
Once we get the candidate moves from above logic. then we concretely calculate each of it to see which one best meets the requirement, like we know white plan is to attack f7 so he will be playing Bc4, Qf3 orQh5, so we consider these white ideas.
by carefully considering all our options and opponent ideas, combining with principles, we can navigate safely to of many positions.

You can see proud in his face in the fact that sacrificing a knight is dumb opening if know and counter rightly

After white’s knight g5 move black should have gone for queen e7 hence preventing the knight’s move on f7

Actually this is what brought my ambitions as a chess player to an end in my first amateur tournament.

After Bc4+ you shouldn't move your king back.

If my opponent captures my knight with the queen then it's all over😳

This is the scotch gambit. My personal favourite

Podía haber hecho el mate en 10 movidas, no era necesario mover el peón para hacer jaque, directamente debía haber hecho jaque con la reina y el alfil.

The moment white didn't go for the black pawn
That's when I realized he's up to something and he's sure about it
