I watched Songland last night, and knew from the gitgo that Martina would pick this song. It is extremely well written by one of music's rising songwriters. It is extremely heartfelt and very catchy. I remember accidentally coming across This One's For The Girls about 9 years ago when I had just left school, started university and only literally just taken my first steps out of my childhood. I was 18 and I loved that song. 10 years later I came here to hear it again for the first time in ages. I'm 27 now and thinking about how my life has become exactly as Martina described in her other song "in little apartments just trying to get by on dreams and spaghettios", and I've found this song instead where she's STILL 10 years later singing songs for girls and women to get by on and she's STILL completely 100% relatable and man I feel old but I feel like her songs speak to me through all my life's different phases
