Royal Enfield Classic 350 - Trail tyres fitted!

Показать описание
New tyres fitted today despite it being real cold and the rubber rock hard, and nearly a disaster when the bike rolled forward off of the centre stand while trying to refit the back wheel!. I left that on the film - many folk would not but hopefully other folk won't do the same trying to refit the wheel as I did!, I think a bit of wood under each side of the centre stand should raise it enough to get the rear wheel out yourself , I will give it a try. Need to practice alining the back wheel as it took me about 5 minutes fiddling around on what should be a simple job, Anyway im real happy with the new tyres and the improved grip I will now have on loose surfaces around the country roads here,

If you enjoyed this check out my playlist for my Royal enfield Classic 350, thanks!

Hi Bruce, I love the fact that you show all your content, no ego involved. We all make small errors and your not afraid to show or admit to yours. As always great video.

I've been changing tires by hand my whole life, racing motocross it was a weekly choir. This is a different way to do it, seemed like butter !
I don't think it would be that smooth for me that way lol. We all have our ways, and all are the right way as long as the tire is on. Beauty bike brother, and the tires make it look SO much better.
My father has the 500 classic, I just ordered him a set of Shinko 244 for his bike afyer watching your video, and seeing how great the dual sport tire looks on the Enfield !

Looks great with those tyres 👍
Really looking forward to what the bike is capable of now. I am considering getting one myself and changing from my crf 250 rally. I don't really do offroad anymore, just looking for something that can maybe chug down the occasional dirt track.

Thankyou for a very informative film, I have put a rear semi off road tyre on my classic 500 for the Dragon rally and found long levers are better.

Love it. I put Shinko 705s on mine back in October. I love the looks and durability of a dual purpose tyre, but I probably won't get a good feel for the added traction until next spring. Cheers

I'm just fitting a set today Bruce, I jacked the bike up on my small scissor jack platform under the frame loops, to get some hight to get the rear wheel out, what a tricky job! Yeah it was warm work 🥵😆
But determined I wasn't taking it to a tyre shop !
Cheers Mel 🍻

Its Mr T loved changeing tyres its so easy then the compound was more rubber than now its nylon when taking tyre of keep the bottom in centre of rim as gives more room on top and use chalk powder to install tyre and tube

couple of suggestions... bit of gaffer tape on the tyre levers might help save the rim.. and i have a cheap £19.99 blow heater from argos i use to warm tyre up especially the last bit that goes on, makes a huge u lucky ya didnt have any safety grip things to go in as well... its a horrible job.. i recently nipped the tube on my trials bike rear.. long time since i have changed one it was not fun.. ..i been using the green slime in tubes it definitely works.... .. bike looks perfect for them lanes

I recently tried and failed at first to remove the tubeless tyres on my Vespa 300 because there’s so little give in 12” of rubber and there’s only a small amount of wiggle room in the wheel rim well. I thought changing such small tyres would be easy because some years ago I had removed and refitted my Bullet 500 (2000 model year) tyres with new tubes and rim tapes but I was so wrong. Tyre lube (washing up liquid) helps so much to get the tyres off as well as on. However, I also had to resort to two Toolstation 600mm tyre levers plus four of the size you used and a trolly jack and cargo strap to break the beads! This titanic struggle was required to clean and repaint the alloy rim beads, which had oxidised and thus the tyres were deflating from the beads. I should have filmed it but I was too knackered. Anyway, well done, it's not as easy as it looks.
